    Mari Carrasco is selected to be apart of The Visiting Artist Programme for Tanz Im August 2022 in Berlin Germany. Six artists are selected from europe and Carrasco is selected from Sweden and sent by Danscentrum Sweden. The goal for the program is for the visiting artists to explore this international dance festival with stimulating artistic development opportunities, creative exchange and valuable networking. The program is led by Big Pulse Dance Alliance Project Manager Eduardo Bonito.

    Premiere EVERYTHING at Vitabergsparken in Stockholm, Sweden. Piece made in 2019 for Stockholm 59°North with dancers from The Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm. This piece couldn't be performed due to rain on the premiere date in 2019 but has been reworked during the summer 2022 and will finally be performed at Parkteatern.

    Mari Carrasco is the recipient for the five year work grant from The Swedish Arts Grants Committee. The grant will make it possible for Carrasco to work more internationally and in the future create her own independent work.

    Teaching morning classes for professional dancers between week 11-13 as part of the project Train Distance Dance Training. The project is a new Nordic co-operation between Dansehallerne (DK), Danscentrum (SV) and PRODA (NO). One artist/teacher is selected from each country to rotate by train between Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen in a 3-week teaching tour. Mari Carrasco is selected from Sweden. Week 11 at Danscentrum in Stockholm - Sweden, week 12 at Dansehallerne in Copenhagen - Denmark and week 13 at Proda in Oslo - Norway.

    Mari Carrasco recieve the prestigious culture prize 2021 from TCO. The motivation from the jury: To be able to take part in Mari Carrasco's work "Remind Me I'm not Dead" during the isolation of the pandemic is a reminder of the power of dance, the function of the party and the importance of movement for human expression. Based on the individual's own rhythm, a collective stream of groove and pulse is built. By challenging the forward movement and pace of the time, Mari Carrasco's choreography provides both an experience of dizziness and of closeness.

    Unga Klara, The National Stage For Children and Young People, is now taking the step to leave the home scene to make its first major national and world tour. With an ensemble of nine actors and four performances: Because I Say So (World premiere), X, My True Selves and Girls Will Make You Blush (last one directed and choreographed by Mari Carrasco and Gustav Deinoff) these pieces will be travelling the world during 2019.

    BLACK FORREST created for NORRDANS by Mari Carrasco have been selected to tour with Dansnät Sverige// Dancenet Sweden. The piece will be performed in Gävle, Örebro, Västerås, Falkenberg, Malmö and Linköping in Sweden.

    Mari Carrasco is announced as one of the choreographers for VERVE 20.

    VERVE will create brand new work with four international choreographers and their collaborators, tour across the UK and Europe with VERVE Artistic Director Matthew Robinson and a variety of guest artists including:

    Botis Seva
    Lali Ayguadé
    Mari Carrasco
    Matthew Robinson

    All four choreographers will create brand new works for and with the company. VERVE is the postgraduate company of Northern School of Contemporary and all dancers are enrolled on the School's MA in Contemporary Dance Performance

    The Swedish Arts Grants Committee have decided for the first time to award a two-year work scholarship of 100,000 a year to Mari Carrasco. This is absolutely fantastic news for Carrasco since it makes it possible for her to continue her work, practice and development as choreographer. Thank you to the Swedish Arts Grants Committee!

    World premiere of INTERNALLY BLACK at Härnösand Teater with newly composed music by Mikael Karlsson.

    The Swedish Arts Grants Committee have granted Mari Carrasco with The International Studio grant. For two weeks Carrasco will work in the studio in Stockholm and make preparations for the new piece, INTERNALLY BLACK for NORRDANS.

    July 2

    The Swedish Arts Grants Committee have granted Mari Carrasco with a travel grant to attend the Gaga Intensive in Barcelona. This grant makes it possible for dance artists to travel abroad for shorter periods for work or study. This provided Carrasco with the support to be able to continue her studies as a dancer/choreographer, meet and connect with other artists and to receive new information. Thank you to the Swedish Arts Grants Committee!

    Mari Carrasco has been working as a movement coach for the theatre piece NÄR KNOPPAR BRISTER, directed by Anne Jonsson and playwright by Moa Backman at UNG SCEN ÖST.

    Mari Carrasco is one of 5 choreographers that has been invited to the workshop; Fabrique Chaillot during Le Festival Nordic 2018 at The National Theatre For Dance Chaillot in Paris.


    The idea behind the workshop is to create a platform for nordic choreographers to meet and exchange ideas and experiences. Choreographers Jefta van Dinther and Alan Lucien Oyen will make a visit during the workshop to talk and or give feedback. On the 25th of Jan each choreographer will make a presentation for 100 programmers in Chaillot organized my Regis Plaud. In the end CHAILLOT will offer one of the 5 choreographers a residency work in 2019.
